One of the 10 A&G large format sets, N35 is probably third in popularity only to the N36 American Indians and N43 Sports Champions. Editors were celebrities, once! Many of the newspapers referenced here still exist, while others disappeared over the past 125+ years. Of note, included are Joseph Pulitzer (namesake of the annual journalism prizes), a sole female editor (Nicholson of the New Orleans Picayune), and the publisher of a long-running German language daily (Oswald Ottendorfer of The New Yorker Staats-Zeitung).
This set is based on the smaller format N1 Editors. Because they had a bigger footprint to work with, the lithographers we able to include pretty scenes and building from the local area of each editor. Cards numbered 26-50 are much harder to find than the first 25, although that doesn’t seem to affect values.
I need just a few more cards to complete the 50-card set, as well as a few upgrades.
